Further to the recent Notice of Ballot – Amendment to ABC Rules, April 28 2010, both rule changes were overwhelmingly endorsed by our members.
The rules are available from the ABC website (Download ABC Rules) for an implementation on the 1st of July. The details of the auditor training and membership pricing and schedules, together with a “launch pack” will be sent to all external auditors shortly.
The executive committee of the Audit Bureau of Circulations has determined that Anzac Day, Sunday April 25, 2010 may be excluded from the Average Net Paid Sales figures at the option of the newspaper publisher member.
If you elect to take this or any other optional exclusion, the issue date(s) must be noted through eLodgement.
A full list of optional exclusion dates for the June 30, 2010 audit period is available from the Audit Tools area on the website.
CAB’s distribution data for the period ending March 2010 was released late last month and is now available by logging in to eData. Over the last 6-months, the CAB has seen substantial growth in business and specialty publisher applications with 41 new titles.
The CAB has recently held a series of free workshops in Sydney and Melbourne which were well attended and the CAB is now planning on holding more workshops in all the capital cities throughout July and August.
The workshops are an opportunity for publishers to learn how they can take advantage of their audited status to maximise advertising sales.
The addition of another 20 sites in recent weeks has boosted the number of ABA audited websites to 120 entrenching the growing importance of audited web audience data in the local industry. The catalyst for the latest increase in membership is the growing advertiser awareness of the major impact on page impressions and session duration created by auto-refresh inflation.
