Welcome to our second edition of the ABA Newsletter, and a big “thank you” to all who responded to our December launch edition with your suggestions and ideas.
2010 is shaping up to be a year of significant change in the media industry led in part by the recent launch of new and innovative technologies in the delivery of content on-line. From clever software solutions, (including our home grown RealView), to clever hardware platforms such as Apple’s I-Pad, the pace of change is accelerating bringing with it new opportunities and challenges for the ABC and CAB.
The staff at the Bureaux are working hard to construct and provide auditable readership metrics for each of these new forms of content delivery and we are involved both locally in Australia and overseas through our presence on the IFABC (International Federation of ABC’s). This involvement provides us with a unique insight into what is being developed internationally and into what is considered best practice for audience metrics globally.
As this develops, we will be working closely with our members to ensure that our rules and approach to these new technologies satisfies the needs of all of our constituency including Advertisers, Media Buyers and Publishers.
