ABC’s next data release on Monday November 16, 2009 will include the first reporting of the ‘Bundled Sales’ category in Average Net Paid Sales (ANPS) for national and metro newspapers, regional daily newspapers and weekly magazines who have completed reporting for the July to September 2009 quarter.
The new category sits alongside ABC’s existing categories of Accom & Airline Sales, Education Sales, Event Sales and Multiple Publication Sales and will be reported as a percentage of ANPS. Bundled Sales offers an opportunity for publications sold with one or more products as part of a single transaction or ‘bundle’ to be included in ANPS.
The changes were the result of industry-wide consultation and discussion and approved through a formal voting process by members in late June 2009. The new category meets the same stringent audit requirements which underpin the ABC’s paid print audit ensures ABC’s reporting of paid sales increases in relevance and reflects the changing media marketplace.
