The first of many CAB and ABC Auditor Accreditation training sessions to be staged around Australia was held in Melbourne on 28 October. These modules are part of a recently launched program to ensure the Bureau’s publisher members have access to the most knowledgeable CABregistered auditors who are up-to-date with today’s dynamic media auditing environment.
The CAB Print Distribution Audit Reporting Standard, and the auditing accreditation that accompanies it, requires all CAB Registered Auditors and their staff to be accredited if they are to conduct or work on any CAB print distribution audits.
Membership starts at $150 per year and this will be invested into strengthening CAB’s support resources which can be especially strained during peak-demand audit periods. The maximum training cost for the program will be $250 per accredited auditor or staff member, which will need to be updated and renewed every three years.
“The Accreditation Program will improve every auditor’s understanding of the CAB’s new rules and the correct application of them when conducting audits,” says CEO, Paul Dovas. “The end result will be that membership and training for our registered auditors will ensure our publisher members have access to the most competent and knowledgeable circulation auditors who are up to speed with CAB’s changing audit landscape.”
The CAB accreditation tour has also travelled to Western Australia on Thursday 25 November, at the Mercure Hotel Perth. The following training event is to be staged in Brisbane on Wednesday, 2 February 2011, and the CAB will be emailing auditors all the relevant details within the next two to three weeks. Sydney dates are to be confirmed early in the New Year.
