Advertisers and media buyers are being invited to participate in an online survey to discover the impact of scams in publishing, and a targeted advertising campaign will also be rolled out later this year.

The first of these events is the Community Newspapers of Australia (CNA) Awards for Excellence which will be held on 24 June in Sydney and 8 July in Melbourne, followed by the Media Federation of Australia’s (MFA) Awards to be held in Sydney on 20 October.

Commenting on the CAB sponsorship, CAB chief executive Paul Dovas, says: “Our member community is important to us, and we are proud to support our sister associations who are key supporters of accountability in advertising spend.”

CNA is an association of newspapers and publishers committed to ensuring the success and growth of free newspapers within Australia. It represents every major publisher in the country including Fairfax, Leader, Cumberland, Quest and many others.

The CNA Awards for Excellence recognise the achievements of members across many categories including advertising, editorial, photography, community service, special publications, websites and newspapers. Entries are now closed but tickets to the presentation evenings are still available.

In addition, The CAB is also sponsoring the MFA Awards, which is the country’s most prestigious awards program in the Advertising Media communications industry.

This year the MFA is promoting the mastery of the media environment and aims to showcase the very best media solutions which were simply not possible in the past.

“The CAB is proud to support the work of the MFA and its members,” said chief executive Paul Dovas. The MFA has been an important supporter of the need for media accountability and the work of the CAB and it’s a great opportunity for CAB to work more closely with the organisation.”
