Advertisers and media buyers are being invited to participate in an online survey to discover the impact of scams in publishing, and a targeted advertising campaign will also be rolled out later this year. Complete the survey now

Advertising with audited media protects your investment as the distribution figure for the magazine can be verified and clarifies that the title is a real publication and not a scam.

The CAB has also strengthened its relationship with the Department of Fair Trading (DFT), and DFT New South Wales recently agreed to display a list of all audited titles on their website, which is the first time a Government department has done so.

Don Jones, the assistant commissioner for compliance and enforcement for the NSW Department of Fair Trading, will speak at the upcoming CAB Conference Accountability in Ad Spend, to be held on 21 July in Sydney.

The CAB is also keen to hear from anyone in the industry who has been affected by scammers, media publishing representatives who have overstated data, as well as local or international companies providing unsubstantiated information regarding circulation figures.

An online survey has been put together by the association to gather this information with a view to ascertaining the current level of circulation fraud that exists in unaudited publications. Advertisers and media buyers can contribute by completing the survey
