Internationals speakers from the UK and US will join the line-up of Publishers Australia’s Magazine Week conference that will take place on 10-11 November.

The international contingent includes independent subscriptions analyst Alan Weaver (UK), internet marketing guru Ryan Dohrn, chief executive of Brain Swell Media (USA) and Kenneth Pecca, director of pre-media and digital imaging at Hearst Magazines (USA).

Publishers Australia chairman, Geoff Hird said: “Magazine Week is an exciting new event on the media calendar that will see the best minds in our industry gather to share insights, talk trends and delve into real-life case studies.”

Dohrn, Weaver and Pecca will join marie claire editor-in-chief Jackie Frank, Priceline’s marketing director Amanda Connors, MindFood publisher Michael McHugh and Allure Media managing director Chris Janz, amongst others.

Australia’s leading media industry commentator Steve Allen, managing director Essence Media and Fusion Strategy, will give the keynote speech at the conference.
The two-day conference is only one part of the week-long event which includes Fipp’s Digital Publishing Workshop, a trade show exhibition, networking events and the 15th annual Excellence Awards gala dinner.

Magazine Week is presented by Publishers Australia and Magazine Publishers Australia and will run from 7-11 November in and around Darling Harbour, Sydney.
MPA chairman Nick Chan said: “Magazine Week will showcase the significance of the magazine market.

“It will highlight the challenges and the opportunities across all platforms of publishing – it really is a must-attend event for anyone in the industry.”
